Stranding & Steeking Class; August 18th, 25th, 2018.
A two-part workshop to introduce the basics of Fair Isle Knitting: a traditional method of creating coloured patterns by working two yarns simultaneously. The class will cover fair isle history, working methods, yarn dominance, reinforcement and steeking. By the end of the class you will complete a patterned coffee cozy.
When: Saturdays, August 18th and 25th, 2018, from 10am-12pm
Prerequisites: Basic knitting skills (knit, purl, increase, decrease)
Materials: ~75yds worsted weight yarn in five different colours colours; 3.75mm set of four double pointed needles, or long circulars for magic loop. All class materials can be purchased at Galt House of Yarn, though you may bring your own.
Cancellations and Refunds: If there is insufficient registration for the class (minimum 3 participants), you will be notified at least 2 days before the start of class and your full fee refunded. If you wish to withdraw from the class entirely, you must contact Galt House of Yarn at least 2 business days before the start of classes to obtain a refund. We regret that there are no refunds for class absences or make-up sessions.
