A Stitch in Time: Vol. 3
On this occasion Susan merges her combined love of vintage knitting with colourwork designs to bring you 25 vintage colourwork patterns from the 1920s to the 1950s all updated and multi-sized, with all garment patterns sized from 28-60 inch (70-155 cm) chest.
Susan has selected 25 knitting patterns from her own archive of vintage knitting patterns to offer a wide range of beautiful, wearable colourwork pieces; the majority of the patterns chosen are garments with a small selection of essential colourwork accessories included. Susan has chosen a combination of sweaters, cardigans, vests and more, with some well-known pieces amongst them.
In A Stitch in Time Vol 3 - The Colourwork Edition, Susan builds on her experience writing The Vintage Shetland Project and more recently, Evolution, to bring you a timeless volume of exquisite projects and clear, well-written patterns.
The designs are be modelled on a variety of models including Susan to show just how wearable these vintage pieces can be.
Patterns include full colour charts, clear schematic diagrams and comprehensive written instructions. Where appropriate patterns have been updated to be knit in the round and may include steeks and a number of patterns also include the option for knitting flat.
Susan Crawford is a British knitwear designer, fashion historian and author, known for her work on modernizing vintage knitwear patterns.
She lives in the Lake District in North West England — an area with stunning landscapes that also impact her work. Susan is particularly inspired by the stories carried within textiles and the intertwining of history and stitches.
