Crochet III - Flower Coasters; June 10th, 17th and 24th
Discover the joy of bringing your crochet projects to life this Spring with beautiful crochet flowers! This fun and engaging three-week class is designed for experienced crocheters who are new to floral techniques and ready to expand their skills. Over the course of three 2-hour sessions, you’ll learn how to create a variety of textured, dimensional flowers and coordinating leaves when attached to coasters will look like a stunning pot of flowers while being stored. Each class builds on the last, giving you the confidence to read patterns, shape petals, and experiment with your own creative designs. Whether you’re looking to add a special touch to your projects or simply try something new, this class is the perfect way to grow your crochet repertoire in a supportive, enthusiastic environment.
All class attendees must be 16 years or older.
When: Wednesdays, June 10th, 17th and 24th from 7-9pm.
You will be given 'homework' during the week; please allow additional time at home to work on your projects.
Pre-requisites: Learn to Crochet I AND Crochet Hats II or Crochet Granny Squares OR equivalent experience. Project uses, sl sts, sc, hdc, dc, dc2tog, and tr.
Cost: $68
Note: Pot and coasters will be worked at home. The classes will focus on the flowers and leaves and attaching them to the coasters for a beautiful finished product.
Materials for Flowers and Leaves
- 10g of each colour of crochet thread #10 - suggested colours are pink, lilac, red and green.
- 1.75mm or 2.00mm hook for crochet thread
- scissors
- tapestry needle
Note: If you have never worked with lace weight yarn/crochet thread it would be advisable to start with fingering weight (Sandnes Garn Sisu) with a 2.0mm hook or even DK weight yarn (Ricorumi DK) with a 2.5mm hook to learn the mechanics of crocheting flowers with more ease. This will result in larger flowers and will still look stunning. Do not choose dark colours for your flowers.
Materials for Pot and Coasters
- 1 x 50g ball /skein of Estelle Highland Alpaca Worsted Tweed in the colour of your choice
- 5mm crochet hook
- measuring tape
- scissors
- tapestry needle

Cancellations and Refunds:
If there is insufficient registration for the class (minimum 3 participants), you will be notified and your full class registration fee will be refunded.
If you no longer able to participate in your class, you must contact classes@galthouseofyarn.ca prior to the class confirmation email being sent. Once your class has been confirmed, we are no longer able to withdraw you from the class or issue a refund.
We regret that there are no refunds for class absences and no make-up sessions.
